Our primary business is the manufacture of silicone valve cover gaskets that will stop the oil leaks at this critical area of your cars engine. Old cork gaskets are a once and done product. You need a new one every time you pull off a valve cover to set your valve lash. Our silicone gaskets last much longer and can be used over and over for years of use. Cork gaskets are also very stiff and un-compressible. Many folks have deformed their valve covers trying to over-tighten a cork gasket so it won't leak, making the situation even worse. These silicone gaskets are much softer, they will provide a proper seal without over-tightening your valve cover bolts.  We offer world-wide shipping on all our parts.

DIRECTIONS

We recommend all of our gaskets be permanately adhered to the valve cover.  This ensures proper location of the gasket and easy removal of the valve cover for lash adjustments. 

This is absolutely mandatory on gaskets for aftermarket ALLOY covers.  Generally these covers do not have any retaining lip on the gasket sealing surface to retain and locate the gasket.  The only way to keep these gaskets in the proper position is to adhere them to the valve cover.

Make sure the sealing surface of the valve cover is absolutely clean of old gasket material, sealants, grease, oil and other contamiments.  Apply a thin bead of silicone gasket maker/adhesive to the sealing surface.  Put the gasket into position and place the valve cover, gasket side down, onto a flat, clean, and smooth surface for several hours to allow the adhesive to cure.  Any non-hardening silicone gasket maker/adhesive will do.  We prefer red hi-temp Permatex.

Most of our gaskets for OEM valve covers are semi-circular in cross section.  The rounded side of the gasket mates to the valve cover sealing surface.  The flat side mates to the head sealing surface.  Most of our gaskets for aftermarket ALLOY covers are rectangular in cross section.  It does not matter which side is installed toward the valve cover sealing surface.
